Utah Changes Abortion Laws
Utah has had a moment of clarity:
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Utah House has passed a bill requiring girls younger than 18 to get parental consent before they have an abortion. Current law requires only parental notification.
Lawmakers voted 65 to eight to approve the new measure. It now heads to the state Senate. Only Democrats voted against it.
Exceptions would be made for the health of the mother, other medical emergencies or cases of abuse or incest. The bill would also allow courts to grant permission for the procedure.
The proposal also ensures that allegations of abuse and incest resulting in pregnancy would be substantiated by a physician, then referred to the state's Division of Child and Family Services.

Maybe if they'd had some help making the choices leading up to their "condition" there wouldn't be any need for laws like this one.

How is a parent to care for their child's health if they don't even know if their child has had a major medical procedure?

You hit the nail on the head. It is sad. I need to pray for them, if we ever intend to get back to what our Founding Fathers fought for to grant to us. Who knows? It just may work!
