It seems that Hillary can't let it go. She's coming back to the healthcare issue, at least in some capacity.
Sen. Clinton is calling for a massive expansion of the Family and Medical Leave Act, saying that it is past time for an updated version that allows time off of work for participation in children's school activities and health care, as well as time to care for elderly parents.
"We make it about as hard in our country as possible for people to do the most important job there is in any society - and that is raising and nurturing the next generation," Mrs. Clinton told a Brown University audience during a speech on women's leadership last week.
"Since the Family and Medical Leave Act was passed in my husband's administration, more than 50 million men and women have taken advantage of it," she explained. "Well, I think it needs to be updated and it needs to be expanded somewhat."
Mrs. Clinton insisted that "there should be time available for teachers conferences and doctors appointments, to be involved in your children's' lives and to increasingly care for your aging parents.
The FMLA already allows for 12 weeks of time off of work for immediate family concerns.
Curiously, Hillary made no mention or estimates of the costs to businesses under her new act.
My guess is that it'll start looking a lot like France over here...She's obviously testing the water for things to run on in 2008.

Yeahaw, pardners! The gay rodeo is in town!
The Florida Gay
Rodeo Association (No, I'm not making that up, there really is a FGRA!)
is hosting the state's first gay rodeo this weekend. It's going to be a
real blast, complete with competitions and concerts.
The
competition is open to both gay cowboys and cowgirls, who may compete
together in any event, even ones traditionally reserved for men, such
as bull riding and bareback bronco riding.
''And that's the
great thing about gay rodeo,'' Nikol Hillman, one of the contestants
said. "Every gender can compete in every event. It really breaks down
those barriers.''
The Sunshine Stampede also includes events that would never happen at a traditional rodeo, such as dressing goats in underwear and horse racing in drag.

Here's a funny one:
An Egyptian man from Cairo routinely donned
a full Islamic niqab to visit his long-time mistress. He camouflaged

hard to have an affair with someone after she's been stoned to death.
The

manly footwear poking out from under his veil, and screamed for
security to unmask him.
Now comes the not-s0-funny part... If

Talk about insult to injury!
A mere day after announcing his
resignation from Congress, Tom DeLay is poised to file ethics violation
charges against Cynthia McKinney.
"If
somebody else doesn't file an ethics charge, I will," DeLay said on
Rush Limbaugh's radio show this afternoon. "I am going to defend these
Capitol Police. ... They are incredibly professional and courageous,
and I am not going to let this happen."
DeLay also blasted McKinney as a racist who uses her color as an excuse for perceived victimhood.
"She
is a racist," DeLay said. "She bases everything on race. Everything bad
that has ever happened to her is because she's black. She's
anti-Semitic, that's who she is."
By
now, I'm sure that we're all familiar with the McKinney debacle, so I
won't rehash it here, but I will give a few of her outrageous quotes.
"The issue is racial profiling,"
"You can't stop me. The real issue is face recognition and security around the Capitol complex."
If that's the case, all I have to do is look
like someone that works in the building, and I can stroll right through
security with a bomb in my briefcase and blow the whole Senate floor up!
But
I digress. I think that ethics charges should definitely be brought
against her. She has slandered a police officer who was just doing his
job.
But
to have DeLay bring them? Bad form. It just doesn't look good; someone
else in the Senate who has a little more political calm around him.
Unless this is because Tom knows that no matter what he's going out, so
he's saving someone else from being under the racist gun...Hmm...

What the heck is going on in Colorado?
Students at Shaw Heights
Middle School are no longer allowed to wear anything that is patriotic,
including camouflage, because the school considers it a political,
anti-Hispanic statement.
"It upsets me that we cannot support
our troops -- the military," said Kirsten Golgart, an eighth grader who
was told she'd be suspended if she didn't change her clothes. "We can't
support our country. If we're American, I think we should be proud to
be an American."
The school principle, Myla Shepard, said she wanted to prevent fighting.
"We
started seeing name calling," Shepherd said. "Safety is my first
concern, so I'm going to do things to keep us from getting to a point
where anybody is hurt or being suspended for fighting."
One student who wore a pair of blue jeans, and a red and white sweater, she would be expelled.
Expelled? HUH?!?
In
Longmont, CO, the principle of Skyline High School banned all flags
because of tensions due to the recent focus on illegal immigration.
Yep, all flags, including the AMERICAN flag!
Here's a free suggestion for 'ya: Punish the kids after they do something wrong, and don't infringe on my freedoms!
This
is outrageous! We are Americans, for heaven's sake! It's only right
that the flag be flown in our own country. Are we so worried about
bruising someone's feelings that we will deny our own identity?
